Saniblanc D - poultry and animal protection against Brachyspira, Avian Influenza, Salmonella, Campylobacter and Marek's Disease
Dry powder sanitisation for the modern poultry farm, DEFRA-approved sanitisation for indoors and outdoors and proven to be effective against all major diseases and infections in poultry runs and houses
Saniblanc D is a new organic product for complete sanitisation and improvement of external runs around ,poultry sheds, and for internal scratch areas.
Saniblanc D can improve poultry hygiene and prevent poultry infection. This new product aids poultry biosecurity and can prevent all major infections, including coccidia, brachyspira, coccodiosis, salmonella and Marek's disease, providing a safe, clean, soil disinfectant, for chicken, poultry and other farmed animals.
Spread over farmland and safe to poultry and other livestock within 24 hours, it will kill many types of bacteria, spores, viruses and parasites that affect farm animals.
What it is?
Saniblanc® D is a fine white powder designed specifically for disinfecting poultry houses and runs.
DEFRA have approved Saniblanc® D for general orders and against H5N1 infection, a testimony to the powerful effects of Saniblanc.
Saniblanc® D is perfectly safe for use outdoors and will not affect the environment or the local water courses.
Suitable for organic and free range farms it is ideally suited for sanitisation and improvement of external runs around poultry sheds and for internal scratching areas

How it works
Saniblanc® D works in three ways, by temperature, pH and water absorption; in more detail
Thermal effect on hydration:

The exothermic reaction of Saniblanc® D with water creates a sudden temperature rise, to over 70oC in a matter of minutes, destroying all but the most thermally resistant organisms.
Strong base/Raising pH:
The reaction of Saniblanc® D causes a sudden increase in pH which can typically reach a pH value of 12.5. At this level of pH, the environment is disinfected
Water Absorption/Dehydration agent:
During reaction of Saniblanc® D with water, up to 650 litres of water per tonne of Saniblanc® D can be absorbed. This means that the treated area is rapidly dried and any water absorbed, leaving a more stable and sanitary environment.
An added benefit of using Saniblanc® D is its deodorizing effect which prevents odours by killing off the biological organisms that cause insect attracting odours; Saniblanc® D also prevents fermentation of the effluent which further reduces odours.
What is Saniblanc D effective against?
Saniblanc D is highly effective in killing off all major organisms that are known causes of disease and infection in poultry. It's in the outside run where free range chickens and turkeys run the highest risk of coming into contact with bacteria such as Brachyspira, pasteurella or erysipelas, and unfortunately it is quite common for a newly introduced, fully vaccinated flock to deteriorate quite rapidly in terms of egg yield and mortality once they are allowed outside. There is the ever-present danger of them picking up viruses including avian (bird) flu, H5N1 (the pathogenic form of which spreads very rapidly) or reovirus. In addition they can pick up parasites which include coccidiosis, helminth and ascaris. Contamination by any of these could damage or even completely wipe out entire flocks and vastly effect egg production rates.
Saniblanc® D is effective against the following:
Bacteria:
Faecal Coliforms: reduction of more than 99% of initial populations.
Faecal Streptococci: Escherichia coli reduction of more than 4 log10 (more than 10,000 times)
Salmonellae: complete destruction although their life lasts more than 1000 days in excrement
Mycobacteria: (tuberculosis), Brucella
Spores: reduction of more than 4 log10 of Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax) and Clostridium butyricum (transformation of dairy products)
Viruses:
H5N1 and Newcastle Disease: DEFRA approved list of disinfectants
Poliovirus (meningitis, poliomyelitis ...): inactivation in 30 minutes
Reovirus (Diarrhoea, colds ...): inactivation in 3 hours
Parasites:
Coccidiosis: 4 log10 reduction achieved
Ascaris eggs: complete destruction in less than 1 hour
Platyhelminth eggs (tenia ...): 98% destruction
Nematode eggs: 84% destruction
Giardia spores: 68% reduction

- Sprinkle Saniblanc® D at the above dosage rate of 500 g/ m2
- Leave to act for at least 24 hours before bringing in poultry
- Make sure that the thermal reaction is finished; this can be tested by temperature probe or manually by hand
- As a precaution the user may want to re-wet the ground to be certain the full reaction has taken place
-
Frequency:
Saniblanc® D is used externally during the normal disinfection cycle of the poultry production unit, that is to say when disinfection of the building is carried out prior to housing a new flock.
